Selenkay Safari Camp is one of the newest and among the few deluxe camps in Kenya. This small and exclusive haven was carefully designed by Leonard Onetu , a local Maasai man, a conservationist, graduate from the University of Nairobi with vast experience from working with organizations like Amboseli Elephant Research Project, African Wildlife foundation, Taretuo Mission Trust and International livestock research institute. With this expertise and a wide knowledge of the local culture and the Selenkei ecology, Leonard has keenly constructed the camp with lots of care and concern without compromising the international standards of similar camps elsewhere in the world.
Selenkay Safari Camp has also established Enkisuma Scholarship Program to sponsor Maasai bright children from financially poor families from the local Maasai community. The scholarship program gives Maasai girls first priority. In addition, part of the camp revenue and gifts from guests is put back into this scholarship program.
We specialize on camel trekking and nature walks guided by Maasai Morans. This will give our guests a first hand experience on our local environment and guarantee maximum interaction between our guests, our local Maasai community and our environment.
